What does human-in-the-loop mean for AI sales tools?
Human-in-the-loop means a person reviews and approves anything consequential before it reaches a customer or changes a record that matters. The agent researches, decides and drafts. The seller edits, approves or rejects. It is a design property of the product, not a setting, and it is what keeps accountability with the person who owns the relationship.
What to verify
- Is approval required by default, or opt in?
- Which actions are classed as consequential, and who decides that list?
- Can a manager see what was approved, edited or rejected?
- Is the reasoning behind a recommendation visible to the seller?
- Is customer data used to train models outside your tenant?
Why it matters commercially
Unreviewed automated outreach damages accounts faster than it builds pipeline, and enterprise buyers notice. Review also produces the feedback that makes the next draft better, which is why removing the seller usually lowers quality rather than raising throughput.
Where Agentive fits
Agents draft and prepare, the seller approves consequential moves. Agentive makes no autonomous sending claim.
